I always take an insane amount of pictures during the Christmas season. I could probably make a complete scrapbook just for Christmas every year. To create the layout below, I found a sketch from one of my new favorite blogs -- a 4x6 sketch blog. Once I found the sketch I wanted to use, the layout came together quite easily. Welcome to the CTMH Holiday Expressions New Product Blog Hop!

For my project, I decided to put together a pocket scrapbooking layout using the Jeepers Creepers paper packet. While this packet comes with two fun sheets of cut apart cards, I chose to make some of my own using the B&T papers and other CTMH products to show the versatility of pocket scrapbooking. Our Picture My Life collections and paper packet cut-apart sheets are awesome for putting together quick and easy pocket layouts, but with a little fun and creativity, you can make your own pocket pieces for a unique layout that's completely your own.
I've designed both pages, but will be assembling and adding the final embellishments to the right hand page on Friday night at a home gathering. Below is a peek at the layout as it sits now. I will be trimming down the White Daisy layer of the monster to expose some of the fun Tangerine on the base layer -- for sure, I will make the horns Tangerine and possibly the toes. What do you think? I will also "sprinkle" several more black stars throughout the page.

This month's spotlight collection is the sweet, subtle Georgie. While this collection is absolutely perfect & adorable for beautiful baby projects, much of the collection is not baby-specific. In fact, with the exception of the elephant B&T, the paper packet is full of fabulous patterns that would work for almost any occasion! Honestly, I first bought this collection because I was so excited for baby-themed paper/embellishments, but I've created more non-baby artwork with it than baby-artwork so far.
And if this collection couldn't get any sweeter, it also has a coordinating Picture My Life collection. Now the PML set is definitely baby-specific, but what mom would love to receive this set along with a My Legacy album and some pocket Memory Protectors for a baby gift?? Today, I wanted to share another reason CTMH has released these fabulous new kits. In its ongoing efforts to help us document our memories, CTMH wants to encourage us all to consume our products and not collect them. The project guides that coordinate with the new WYW kits do just that! These guides are designed to use almost all the products included in the kits with very little scraps or leftovers.

Because I am so in love with this collection, I decided to go into paper saver mode when putting together the WYW projects -- meaning I used solid cardstock from my stash instead of the patterned B&T paper included in the WYW kit and I cut apart and saved any extra paper that would be hidden under other layers.
Extra B&T I was able to save using "paper saver" mode.
And you know me, I couldn't let those scraps just hang around... so I created several more projects to finish up all the paper and the majority of the embellishments. The remaining embellishments I was comfortable putting in my stash for future use. I will be sharing those projects this week so stay tuned!

April 30th is just around the corner, and the products in Seasonal Expressions 1 will be retiring forever -- including the nautical-themed Regatta. This collection is one of my personal favorites. I have had so much fun playing with it this month. So much fun in fact that I realized today, I never shared my Regatta YouTube videos and other projects with you all.

In the recently released Seasonal Expression 1 Idea Book / Catalog, Close to My Heart introduced lots of new products. If you've had a chance to look through the book, you may have noticed a change to two of CTMH's best selling products, the Workshop kits. CTMH has sold its famous Workshops on the Go in either scrapbooking or card making specific kits for years. In fact, these fabulous kits are one of many things that drew me to CTMH several years ago. In keeping with the fantastic value and fun of the Workshop kits, but in an attempt to appeal to a wider variety of crafters, CTMH has revamped the kits to include more B&T (patterned) cardstock, more embellishments, and more suggested products. To go along with these improvements, CTMH also changed up the breakdown of the paper packets.
Each paper packet will now include 12 double-sided B&T cardstock papers instead of 6 B&T and 6 solid cardstock sheets. But never fear scrappers, several of the new B&T designs feature a more muted pattern which allows you to use them as base pages and photo mats like you would traditionally use solid cardstock.
Instead of included a full color cutting guide for one layout or 3 card designs in the workshop, the new Workshop Your Way kits will feature online cutting guides that can be viewed / saved / printed. This flexibility allows you to access the guide from your smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc, while still allowing you the ability to print, if you wish. The major upside to the digital access of the cutting guide is CTMH will now be including instructions for 3 double-page layouts, 3-4 card designs, and a double-page Picture My Life layout.
The products included in the Workshop Your Way kits will help you create the projects featured in the cutting guide. To complete the cards, you will need to add some card bases/envelopes, the coordinating stamp set and thin cut dies, and ink. As always, CTMH will provide a shopping list in the Idea Book next to the Workshop Your Way listing.
That's right! You NO longer have to purchase the entire kit to get the stamp set. AND Close to My Heart has release coordinating thin cut dies to go along with the WYW coordinating stamp sets.
To help support the new Workshop Your Way concept, Close to My Heart will be releasing YouTube videos featuring how to cut the papers in the collection to make all the suggested projects AND hyperlapsed videos showing the assembly of all projects. These videos will allow you to attend / participate in a workshop virtually anywhere in the world whenever you want! How fun is that??

I will go back and add the birthdays of my family and friends to the cards to allow me to see at a glance whose birthday is in the coming month as I plan the birthday cards I need to make and send.
